After more than a 6 month wait, starting on June 16th, 29 people, both men and women, who were arbitrarily detained on the 25 of November 2006, initiated a process of denunciations against members of the public security of the State Government of Oaxaca and the Federal Government, responsible for torture crimes, cruel acts, sexual abuse, illegal deprivation of freedom and other human rights violations.
The denunciations were filed in Mexico City on the 21st of November in 2008 before the General Office of the judge advocate general of the Republic. It is important to note that various national and international human rights organizations have widely documented the serious violations that have occurred here in Oaxaca.
At the same time, 29 Protocols of Istambul have been presented with the aim of documenting the torture suffered by detainees during their detention, transfer and imprisonment in the states of Oaxaca and Nayarit.
